Question: If the Chiefs are already very much under the cap limit, what would they do with the money? It seems nothing which diminishes the value of releasing him IMO.

As far as versatility goes, didn't Corey Dillon come out of games on 3rd down being replaced by Kevin Faulk? I don't see that as a reason the Chiefs would part with Johnson especially when you consider they don't have a proven runner behind him.
